Destined to Win: Day 26
Day 26 – Win Like Eagles — Test Before They Trust
Scripture
“By their fruits you will know them.” — Matthew 7:20
Quote
“Eagles never commit without testing; destiny champions discern before they trust.”
— Dr. Daniel LeBlanc
Teaching
One of the most revealing traits of the eagle is its unwavering commitment to discernment. Eagles do not rush into relationships or partnerships, nor do they make emotional decisions. When a male eagle shows interest in a female, she does not immediately accept him. Instead, she begins a carefully designed test—one that reveals his character, strength, and consistency. She flies high into the sky, drops a twig, and watches him pursue it with full focus and speed. When he catches the twig, she flies even higher and drops it again. This happens repeatedly until she is convinced that he is reliable and steadfast. Only then does she allow partnership, because an eagle understands that destiny cannot be built on untested character.
In the same way, believers who are called to leadership, influence, and spiritual responsibility must learn the principle of discernment. Not every person who shows interest is meant to be trusted. Not every friend is a covenant companion. Not every eager voice carries the weight of loyalty. Many people admire the altitude of your calling but lack the endurance required to rise with you. Discernment protects you from attaching your life to people who cannot carry your vision, share your burden, or walk in alignment with your destiny. It keeps you from being pulled down to the level of those who refuse to rise, ensuring you never trade your God-given altitude for someone else’s limitations.
Jesus taught us to recognize people “by their fruits,” not their words, emotions, or promises. Fruit doesn’t lie. Passion may fade, excitement may cool, and enthusiasm may evaporate—but fruit endures. People can speak boldly in moments of inspiration, but fruit reveals what they do in seasons of pressure. Wise leaders observe long enough to see patterns, consistency, faithfulness, and integrity. Real discernment is not suspicion or judgment—it is stewardship. You are called to protect the assignment God has given you, and sometimes that protection begins with watching how people handle small tests before handing them larger responsibilities.
Misplaced trust leads to misplaced energy. Many believers grow weary not because their calling is heavy, but because they are carrying people who were never meant to be in their inner circle. Some people drain more than they give. Some distract more than they support. Others love the dream but not the discipline required to fulfill it. It is far better to surround yourself with a few eagle-hearted friends who hunger for new spiritual heights than to gather a crowd of vultures who feast on weakness, negativity, and the past. The eagle teaches us to test commitment before granting access, because your altitude depends on the strength of those connected to you.
Discernment also protects your anointing. You cannot rise if you continually pour your energy into relationships that weaken your focus, divide your heart, or compromise your purpose. The Holy Spirit will highlight people who are aligned with your future and expose those tied to your past. Wisdom is learning to recognize the difference. You build covenant with those who catch your heart, your twigs, your assignments, and your God-given vision—not with those who simply admire you from the ground.
Eagles soar because they do not waste strength on the wrong partnerships. Destiny champions rise because they discern before they trust. It might be lonely at the top, but it’s at the top where victory is won every time.
Application
1. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal whether someone in your life needs testing, distance, or deeper trust.
2. Evaluate fruit, not feelings—look for consistency, faithfulness, and character over time.
3. Set healthy boundaries and choose partnerships that strengthen your vision and honor your calling.
Declaration
I walk in divine discernment. I test before I trust. My relationships are Spirit-led, not emotion-driven. God surrounds me with people who strengthen my destiny and removes those who would weaken my path.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, give me the wisdom of the eagle. Teach me to discern relationships, recognize character, and test before I trust. Guard my heart from misplaced confidence and align me with people who carry Your purpose, Your heart, and Your vision. Lead me into covenant partnerships that help me soar into the fullness of my destiny. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
