Destined to Win: Day 27

Day 27 – Win Like Eagles — Prepare Their Young to Fly

Scripture

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.” — Proverbs 13:22

Quote

“Eagles don’t raise dependents; they raise flyers by teaching others to rise above themselves.”

— Dr. Daniel LeBlanc

Teaching

Eagles are master trainers. When their eaglets are born, the parents do far more than feed and protect them—they intentionally create an environment that forms strength, courage, and independence. Eagles do not raise weak, dependent birds; they raise sky-rulers. Their goal is not merely to keep their young alive but to prepare them to rise above what they are today. The nest may begin soft, but beneath it lies a foundation of woven thorns. As the eaglets grow, the soft layers are removed, allowing the thorns to gently press into them. The discomfort pushes them toward the edge of the nest, where they begin to sense their calling. Eagles teach their young to rise above comfort, above fear, and ultimately above themselves.

Scripture tells us that “a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,” and this inheritance reaches beyond finances or material success. God promises that His covenant faithfulness extends “to a thousand generations.” This means the strength, discipline, vision, and faith you impart into others becomes a legacy that reverberates long after you leave the earth. Eagles instinctively understand that raising dependents limits the future, but raising flyers multiplies it. And in the same way, destiny leaders lift others by teaching them to rise above their limitations, insecurities, excuses, and small thinking. Leaders do not just teach others to rise—they teach them to rise above themselves.

The training process is intentional. At just the right time, the mother eagle pushes her young out of the nest. What seems harsh is actually one of the greatest expressions of love. Without being pushed, the eaglets would never discover the strength of their wings. Without the fall, they would never learn to fly. Meanwhile, the father eagle watches from above, swooping in before they hit the ground. He catches them, lifts them again, and releases them again. In the rhythm of falling and rising, the eaglets learn not only to survive, but to overcome. This is how champions are formed—not by sheltering people from difficulty, but by guiding them through it.

Spiritual leadership works the same way. God places mentors, pastors, and destiny-shapers in our lives who see our potential long before we do. Their role is not to keep us dependent, but to raise us into maturity. True leaders stretch us beyond comfort, call us higher than our excuses, and pull us upward until we rise above the version of ourselves that cannot fulfill our destiny. They know that the greatest inheritance we can leave is not comfort—but capacity. Not ease—but elevation. Not dependency—but destiny.

Eagles rise because someone pushed them.

Champions rise because someone trained them.

And destiny leaders impart inheritance by teaching others to rise above themselves—so they can become everything God created them to be.

Application

  1. Identify one person God is calling you to train, mentor, or pour into.

  2. Remove one area of “over-comfort” that may be hindering their growth.

  3. Provide a challenge or assignment that strengthens their wings.

Declaration

I am a carrier of legacy. I train, empower, and prepare others to fly. My influence extends far beyond me—into generations yet unborn. God uses me to impart strength, vision, and spiritual inheritance that lasts for a thousand generations.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, make me a leader who imparts true inheritance. Give me wisdom to train others, courage to challenge them, and compassion to support them. Let my life bear fruit that touches generations. Raise up flyers through my influence—men and women who will rise into their own God-given destinies. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
