916. Promise: God heals the brokenhearted and sets captives free.

“He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)

917. Promise: God leads us beside peaceful streams and renews our strength.

“He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength.” (Psalm 23:2–3)

918. Promise: God rescues from the power of the grave.

“But God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of the grave.” (Psalm 49:15)

919. Promise: God defends the helpless and frees the prisoners.

“The Lord frees the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down.” (Psalm 146:7–8)

920. Promise: God shields the righteous and keeps them safe.

“For the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.” (Proverbs 3:26)
