Day 40 – Your Healing Journey Continues

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

Your Healing Journey Continues

Forty days ago, you opened this devotional believing—or perhaps simply hoping—that God had something to say about your healing. Maybe you began this journey with unwavering faith, or perhaps you came with only a flicker of hope. You may have been carrying fear, pain, disappointment, or questions that seemed to have no answers. Wherever you started, one truth has remained constant: God has been with you every step of the journey. Healing is more than arriving at a destination; it is learning to walk daily with the Healer and trust His presence along the way.

Before we conclude this forty-day journey, I want to share a personal testimony that forever settled in my heart that Jesus still heals today. I was only nineteen years old when I received orders to report to Castle Air Force Base in California. At that time, I had been a believer for less than six months and did not own a vehicle, so every Sunday I relied on others for a ride to church. My understanding of different denominations was limited, as I had grown up Catholic and had recently given my life to Christ during a Baptist revival meeting. Everything beyond those experiences was unfamiliar to me. Two days before a Sunday service, I experienced an accident that would forever change my life. At the time, it seemed like nothing more than a painful injury, but looking back, I recognize it as the setting for one of the greatest miracles I have ever experienced. While moving a heavy trailer, the trailer tongue slammed my wrist against the concrete. X-rays revealed three clean breaks, and my doctor placed my arm in a cast and scheduled surgery for Monday morning.

That Sunday, my friend Dave invited me to attend his church because a healing evangelist was speaking. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely out of my comfort zone. The music was loud, and people were clapping, dancing, running, and worshiping with an enthusiasm I had never witnessed before. As the service continued, my discomfort grew, and I found myself wanting to leave more with each passing moment. When the invitation was given for those needing healing, Dave and several of his friends urged me to go forward. I refused at first, and even after they encouraged me again, I still resisted. Then the evangelist pointed directly at me from the platform, and, feeling embarrassed and reluctant, I finally made my way to the front—practically carried there by Dave and his friends. The evangelist laid his hands on me and prayed, and the next thing I remember was waking up on the floor. At the time, I had no idea that God had just answered a prayer I wasn’t even sure how to pray. Feeling embarrassed, I quickly got up, ran outside, climbed into Dave’s truck, locked the doors, and waited for the service to end.

The next morning, I reported to the hospital for my scheduled surgery. The nurse explained that they needed fresh X-rays so the surgeon could determine how to repair my wrist. After the X-rays were taken, several doctors and the surgeon came into my room, asking question after question about what had happened. They seemed confused and even skeptical, asking if someone had removed my cast or if the X-rays were truly mine. They sent me back for another series of X-rays, this time removing my cast completely. When the surgeon returned, he looked at me and said, “Something very strange, unusual, and medically unexplainable happened over the weekend.” Then he added words I have never forgotten: “Your wrist isn’t just healed. It’s as though it was never broken.” There were no fractures, no evidence of injury, and no need for surgery. There were no plates, screws, or pins required—nothing at all. One of the nurses, amazed by what she saw, jokingly asked if I had encountered an alien. I smiled and simply replied, “No, I went to church.” That was the only explanation I could give. I walked into that church with a broken wrist, and I walked into that hospital with a healed one. That miracle happened more than forty years ago, and although I have witnessed many others since then, I have never forgotten the first one God performed in my own body. It became a lasting reminder that what I read in the Bible is not merely history—it is living reality.

Some of you reading this devotional have already experienced God’s healing, while others are still waiting. If your complete healing has not yet manifested, do not mistake God’s delay for His absence. The God who began His work in you has promised to finish it, and His faithfulness never fails. As you reflect on these forty days, remember the truths you have learned. God’s Word is His prescription, and faith grows as you hear and believe His promises. Hope anchors your soul, peace guards your mind, and praise shifts the atmosphere around you. Forgiveness frees your heart, love releases life, and Jesus never changes. Every promise of God remains “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ.

The enemy would like nothing more than for you to close this book and return to focusing on the problem instead of the promise. Do not allow that to happen. Continue taking your daily “Gos-pills” by reading God’s Word, praying, praising, and declaring His promises over every area of your life—your body, your mind, your family, and your future. Healing is not merely an event; it is a lifestyle of abiding in God’s presence and aligning your life with His Word. As we come to the end of this devotional, I want to leave you with one final challenge. Do not let your healing stop with you. There are people around you who are discouraged, facing hopeless diagnoses, or carrying silent pain. Share your testimony, pray for the sick, and speak words of hope into their lives. The comfort you have received from God is meant to flow through you to others. The greatest testimony is not simply that God healed you, but that through your healing, someone else discovered the Healer.

This may be the final day of this devotional, but it is only the beginning of a lifetime of walking in faith, health, hope, and expectancy. Your story is still being written, and the Great Physician is still holding the pen.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for walking with me through these forty days and for every promise You have planted in my heart. Thank You for the seeds of faith You have caused to grow within me. I believe that the good work You have begun in me will be completed, and I choose to trust You whether my healing comes suddenly or unfolds over time. I receive Your strength, Your peace, Your joy, and Your restoring power. Use my life as a testimony of Your goodness, and help me bring hope to others who need healing. Thank You in advance for complete restoration in every area of my life. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Today’s Prescription

Continue taking God’s prescription every day by reading His Word, believing His promises, speaking His truth, and walking by faith. Expect His goodness in every area of your life, remembering that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Final Blessing

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His healing hand rest upon your body, His peace guard your mind, His joy strengthen your spirit, and His favor surround you like a shield. May every promise He has spoken over your life come to pass, and may your greatest days of health, strength, and fruitfulness still be ahead of you. May your testimony bring glory to Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Amen.
