Day 38: Your Testimony Brings Healing to Others
“Blessed be God… the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. ” — 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (KJV)
“God never wastes a wound. Every battle surrendered to Him becomes a bridge to someone else’s breakthrough.” — Dr. Daniel LeBlanc
Your Testimony Brings Healing to Others
Recently, my friend Warren and I visited a man in the hospital. Years earlier, Warren had been diagnosed with cancer. The doctors gave him a report that offered little hope. Everything pointed toward defeat, but Warren refused to let cancer have the final word in his life. He thanked the doctors for doing everything they knew to do, but then he made a declaration that changed the atmosphere. He said, “I serve a God who is bigger than cancer.” His faith was tested, but he continued to trust God. He prayed, stood on God’s promises, and refused to allow the diagnosis to become his identity. In time, God brought healing, and Warren’s story became a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
Now, years later, Warren found himself sitting beside another hospital bed—not as the one needing encouragement, but as the one giving it. The man lying in that bed had received a devastating medical report. His family was overwhelmed, fearful, and struggling to find hope. Warren quietly shared his own journey. He told how God had carried him through what doctors believed was impossible. He spoke of faith, prayer, and continually declaring God’s promises instead of surrendering to fear. He did not minimize the seriousness of the diagnosis, nor did he criticize the doctors. Instead, he pointed everyone in the room to the Great Physician.
When we entered that hospital room, the atmosphere was heavy with discouragement. But when we left, everything had changed. Hope had replaced despair. Peace had begun replacing fear. The comfort Warren had once received from God had now become the comfort he was giving to someone else.
That is exactly what the Apostle Paul meant when he wrote that God “comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble.” God never intended His comfort to stop with us. Every time He strengthens us, He is preparing us to strengthen someone else. Every time He heals us, He is preparing us to become a messenger of hope. Every battle surrendered to Him becomes another opportunity to reveal His faithfulness.
Throughout this healing journey, we have learned to hear the Word, anchor our hope, speak God’s promises, remain connected to Him, and walk as overcomers. Now we discover that our story has become part of God’s ministry to others. People often listen more carefully to someone who has walked the road they are traveling. A person battling cancer finds hope when they meet someone who has overcome cancer. Someone struggling with depression listens differently when speaking with someone who has experienced God’s peace in the middle of that same battle. A person walking through chronic illness is encouraged when they hear from someone who continued trusting God through a long healing journey.
Your testimony gives credibility to your encouragement. It tells people, “I know this road. I have cried these tears. I have fought these battles. Let me tell you what Jesus has done.” This is why the enemy fights so hard to silence our testimony. If he cannot stop God’s work in our lives, he will try to stop us from talking about it. He wants us to keep our victories private because he knows our testimony carries the power to strengthen someone else’s faith. Never underestimate the value of your story.
You do not have to be a preacher to change lives. You do not need a microphone or a platform. Sometimes your greatest ministry happens over a cup of coffee, beside a hospital bed, in a waiting room, at work, or through a simple conversation with someone who desperately needs hope. When you tell them what God has done, faith begins to rise in their hearts. This is why we continue to pray and say the promise, not the problem. Our testimony should continually point people toward Jesus rather than continually magnifying what the enemy has done. We do not deny where we have been, but we celebrate where God has brought us. We speak the promise of the blood, not the problem of sickness. We testify to God’s faithfulness more than we talk about the enemy’s attacks. One of the greatest discoveries in the healing journey is realizing that your story is no longer just your story. Once surrendered to God, it becomes part of His story of redemption. Your pain becomes purpose. Your scars become sermons. Your tears become testimonies. Your healing becomes hope for someone else.
Today, thank God not only for what He has brought you through, but also for who He will allow you to help because of it. And if you are in the midst of your journey toward healing, make a decision now that when your healing manifests, you will comfort and encourage those around you with your healing story. Someone is waiting for the testimony that only you can tell. Do not keep your miracle hidden. Share your story boldly, because the comfort God has given you may become the very comfort that gives someone else the courage to believe Him for their own miracle.
Prayer
Father, thank You for Your comfort and faithfulness. Help me share my testimony with love and courage so others may find hope in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
