Day 27 – Fan the Fire of Revival

Scripture:
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” (2 Timothy 1:6 NIV)
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together… but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24–25 NKJV)

Promise

God has placed His gift and fire within you, and when you stir it daily—and gather with others who do the same—your flame will spread into revival fire.

Quote

“Revivals never start as a church event; it is individual fires that fan the flames of the Church.” — Dr. Daniel LeBlanc

Devotion

Paul’s exhortation to Timothy is just as urgent for us today: “Fan into flame the gift of God.” Notice he didn’t say, “Wait for someone else to stir your fire.” He said, “You fan it. You stir it. You keep it alive.” The Spirit’s fire is God’s gift, but fanning it is your responsibility. Too often we are waiting for the next evangelist, prophet, missionary, or speaker to bring revival—only to watch the fire die out when they leave. But revival was never meant to be carried by one personality. Revival begins in individual hearts that burn brightly, and when those flames unite, they ignite the Church. That’s why Hebrews 10:24–25 urges us to “stir up one another… not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.” Fire spreads best when flames are close together. Isolated embers grow cold, but when believers encourage, exhort, and pray for one another, the flame grows hotter. Revival is both deeply personal and profoundly corporate. Think of a campfire at night. If the embers are left alone, they cool and fade. But when stirred, fed, and given oxygen, the fire bursts back into flame. Your spiritual life works the same way. If neglected, the fire dims. But the moment you stir it with prayer, obedience, worship, and surrender—and surround yourself with other burning believers—the flame leaps higher. This is why revivals never start as church events. They begin when one man or woman decides to burn privately before God. Your secret place devotion, your daily worship, your prayer life—all of it fuels revival fire. And when enough individual flames come together, the whole Church becomes a blazing wildfire of glory.

Application

  • Stir the flame with prayer — linger with God until your heart burns again.

  • Feed the flame with the Word — let Scripture ignite you, not just inform you.

  • Breathe on the flame with worship — let your praise lift the fire higher.

  • Spread the flame with witness — share your faith boldly to ignite others.

  • Strengthen the flame with fellowship — stay connected to other burning believers.

Declaration

I will not wait for revival to come from someone else. I choose to fan the flame within me today. The fire of God will burn in me and spread through me to others as I walk in prayer, worship, obedience, and fellowship.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, I confess that I have sometimes allowed my fire to grow dim. Today I choose to stir it again. I turn from neglect, distraction, and complacency, and I choose prayer, worship, obedience, and fellowship. Breathe on my heart until my flame burns hot, and use me as a spark to ignite others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
