Day 15 – Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge

Scripture

“For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit.” — 1 Corinthians 12:8

Promise

The Holy Spirit gives wisdom and knowledge supernaturally so that we can walk in God’s guidance and serve others with His insight.

Quote

“The Spirit’s wisdom gives us the mind of God for the future; His knowledge reveals the facts we could not know in the present.” — Dr. Daniel LeBlanc

Devotion

The Word of Wisdom and the Word of Knowledge are part of the Revelation Gifts—the gifts that reveal the mind of God. These are not natural intelligence or good advice. They are supernatural downloads from the Holy Spirit that give you access to God’s perspective in a moment of need.

  • Word of Wisdom is insight into what to do about the future. It’s God’s strategy for decisions, direction, or solutions no one else could see. In Acts 27, Paul warned the sailors about the coming shipwreck—not because he was a seasoned sailor, but because the Spirit revealed what was ahead.

  • Word of Knowledge is insight into facts that could not be known naturally. In John 4, Jesus told the Samaritan woman details about her life that He could not have known in the natural—this opened her heart and led her to salvation.

The Spirit gives these gifts today to guide believers, build up the church, and bring the lost to Christ. Many testify of moments where they sensed an impression, a word, or a picture from the Spirit that revealed something hidden and unlocked freedom for someone else.

When you say, “Hello Holy Spirit, I welcome You,” you are inviting Him to share what only He knows—whether wisdom for the future or knowledge of the present. These gifts remind us that ministry is not about human cleverness, but about the Spirit revealing God’s heart and mind.

Let’s make some application now. Think of a decision you’re facing or someone you know who needs encouragement. Pause and pray, “Hello Holy Spirit, I welcome You. Give me wisdom for what lies ahead, and knowledge for what I could not see on my own.” Then listen for His gentle nudge or insight, and be bold to share or act on it.

Declaration

I am baptized in the Holy Spirit, and I welcome His wisdom and knowledge. Today I say, “Hello Holy Spirit, I welcome You. Reveal what I need to know, and guide me in what I need to do.”

Prayer

Hello Holy Spirit, I welcome You. Thank You for giving wisdom and knowledge to Your people. Speak to me with clarity, reveal what I could not know, and give me strategies that reflect the mind of God. Use me today to bring encouragement, direction, and freedom to others through Your supernatural wisdom and knowledge. Amen.
