Day 13 – Baptism of Love

Scripture

“Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me.” — Romans 15:30

Promise

The baptism of the Holy Spirit immerses you in God’s love until it overflows into every area of your life and relationships.

Quote

“The baptism of the Spirit is not complete without the baptism of love—God’s love poured in, overflowing out, and transforming all.” — Dr. Daniel LeBlanc

Devotion

The greatest evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not tongues, power, or miracles—it is love. Paul calls it “the love of the Spirit” (Romans 15:30), showing us that love is not just a human emotion but the very atmosphere the Spirit brings into our hearts.

Throughout history, believers have described this as “liquid love.” Jonathan Edwards, John Wesley, and others testified of overwhelming encounters with the Spirit where they felt flooded with God’s love—so deeply that it changed the way they lived and loved others.

The book of Acts confirms this pattern. After Pentecost, believers weren’t just bold and gifted—they were radically generous and united. They shared possessions, cared for the poor, and loved one another with supernatural compassion (Acts 2:44–47). The Spirit’s baptism didn’t just give them power—it gave them love that transformed their community.

When you whisper, “Hello Holy Spirit, I welcome You,” you are opening your heart to that same baptism of love. His presence heals wounds, melts bitterness, and empowers you to love the unlovable. Power without love can wound, but power wrapped in love reveals Jesus.

Let’s make some application now. Think of a strained relationship or someone you struggle to love. Say, “Hello Holy Spirit, I welcome You—pour Your love through me for this person.” Expect Him to release patience, kindness, and forgiveness through you. This is the baptism of love in action.

Declaration

I am baptized in the Holy Spirit, and I am baptized in love. Today I say, “Hello Holy Spirit, I welcome You.” God’s liquid love fills me, overflows through me, and transforms my relationships.

Prayer

Hello Holy Spirit, I welcome You. Pour the love of God afresh into my heart today. Heal me of bitterness, wash away fear, and let Your liquid love overflow into every word I speak and action I take. Teach me to love like Jesus—with patience, kindness, and compassion. Amen.
