BEFORE TIME: Day 3
Day 3 — God’s Love Revealed Through Christ Living in You
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”
— Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
God’s Love Revealed Through Christ Living in You
One of the most freeing truths of the Christian life is this: God did not only forgive you and reconcile you to Himself—He chose to live in you. Christ living in you was not an afterthought or a reward for spiritual maturity. It was always part of God’s plan, settled before you were born and before the earth was created. From the beginning, God’s desire was not merely to be with you, but to be in you.
Because Christ lives in you, God’s love is no longer something you are trying to reach from the outside. It is already present on the inside. This means forgiveness, reconciliation, patience, kindness, and grace are not qualities you have to manufacture through willpower or effort; they are expressions of the life that now lives within you. The Christian life is not about producing Christlikeness—it is about expressing Christ’s life.
Many believers struggle because they still see the Christian life as something they must achieve rather than something they must allow. But Galatians 2:20 gently shifts the focus: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” The goal is not to try harder to love like Jesus, forgive like Jesus, or respond like Jesus. The invitation is to trust Jesus in you to live His life through you. When Christ lives in you, His responses become available to you. His forgiveness becomes your forgiveness. His grace becomes your grace. His love becomes your love in action.
This truth changes how you face everyday situations. When you feel tempted to react, withdraw, defend yourself, or become offended, you can pause and remember, “Christ lives in me.” You are not left to rely on your own strength, discipline, or emotional capacity. God’s love is not distant or theoretical—it is present, active, and personal within you, right where you live your real life.
Living from this reality also brings deep rest. You no longer carry the constant pressure of “getting it right” in your own strength. You learn to trust the life of Christ in you to lead, guide, and express itself through you. As you stay aware of His presence, your responses begin to change—not because you forced them to, but because His life is being revealed through yours.
Today, you are invited to shift from striving to trusting. Christ in you is not a doctrine to admire—it is a life to depend on. He lives in you at work, at home, in conversations, and in relationships. And as you allow His life to flow through you, God’s love is revealed in ordinary moments in extraordinary ways.
Prayer
Father, thank You that Christ lives in me. Thank You that this was Your plan before time began and before the earth was created. Today, I choose to rely on Your life within me rather than my own strength. Teach me to trust Christ in me to love, forgive, and respond with grace. Let Your life be expressed through me in every part of my day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
