BEFORE TIME: Day 1
Day 1 — Our Loving God’s Nature Is Pre-Forgiveness
“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.”
— Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV)
Our Loving God’s Nature Is Pre-Forgiveness
God reveals His love not first through what He asks of us, but through what He has already chosen to give. Isaiah 43:25 opens a window into the very heart of God as He speaks personally and decisively: “I, even I, am He.” Forgiveness is not outsourced, delayed, or conditional. It flows directly from who God is. Notice the reason He gives for forgiving: “for My own sake.” God does not forgive because we performed well enough, repented perfectly, or promised to do better. He forgives because forgiveness is consistent with His nature. His love is not reactive; it is intentional. His mercy is not a last-minute response; it is eternal.
This is what we mean by pre-forgiveness. God’s forgiveness was not formed in response to human failure; it was settled in His heart before failure ever existed. Before time began and before the foundation of the world was laid, God had already decided how He would deal with sin—through mercy, grace, and redemption in Christ. The Cross did not change God’s heart toward humanity; it revealed the heart He had always carried.
Isaiah then makes a statement that reshapes how we live: “I will not remember your sins.” God chooses not to hold sin against us. He does not keep a record, and He does not leave forgiveness unfinished. He removes sin from the relationship entirely. Forgiveness, in God’s economy, is not partial, temporary, or probationary—it is complete, decisive, and final.
Here is the revelation that transforms daily life: this forgiving nature does not stop with God; it is imparted to us. Scripture tells us that Christ lives in us. If God’s nature is pre-forgiveness and His Spirit now dwells within us, then pre-forgiveness becomes part of our new life in Him. This means we no longer live dependent on apologies. We no longer wait for people to say the right thing or fix what they broke before we walk in peace. We no longer have to live ruled by offense, because offense has lost its authority. We now live from the divine grace of pre-forgiveness.
When we walk in pre-forgiveness, every relationship becomes an opportunity to express God’s love rather than protect our wounds. We forgive before offense can take root. We release before resentment can grow. We love without keeping score. This is not weakness—it is divine strength flowing through a healed and secure heart.
Today, you are invited to live from this higher place. You are not waking up hoping God will forgive you; you are waking up forgiven. And because His forgiving nature lives in you, you are free to relate to others from grace rather than expectation. When accusing or offended thoughts try to rise, you can gently remind yourself, “This is not who I am anymore. God’s nature lives in me, and His nature is pre-forgiveness.” God’s forgiveness is love in action, and when His life flows through you, your life becomes love in action too.
Prayer
Father, thank You that Your very nature is pre-forgiveness. Thank You that You blot out my transgressions for Your own sake and choose not to remember my sins. Thank You that You now live in me and that Your nature has become my new way of living. Today, I choose to walk in the grace of pre-forgiveness—free from offense, free from resentment, and free from the need for apologies. Let every relationship in my life become an expression of Your love flowing through me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
