Day 9 — Power to Get Wealth

“You shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

— Deuteronomy 8:18

“God gives wealth with purpose attached—never for ego, always out of relationship.”

Power to Get Wealth

Wealth, according to Scripture, is far more than the result of effort, skill, or opportunity. Deuteronomy 8:18 reveals a divine origin behind increase that most people overlook. The verse does not say God gives wealth directly—it says He gives power to get wealth. This distinction is critical. Wealth is not random, self-made, or accidental; it is the result of divine empowerment operating within covenant relationship.

The Hebrew word translated power is koach. Koach means strength, capacity, ability, force, and divine enablement. It describes an inner empowerment released by God that enables a person to create, manage, multiply, and steward increase. God places this power within a person—it is an impartation, not merely an external blessing.

The Hebrew word translated wealth is chayil. Chayil goes far beyond money. It includes substance, resources, efficiency, competence, strength, and accumulated provision. Biblically, wealth is tied to responsibility and influence, not indulgence. It is often associated with leaders, warriors, and stewards—those trusted with authority.

When these two words are read together, Deuteronomy 8:18 comes alive: God gives divine capacity (koach) to produce and steward substance (chayil). God empowers the process before He ever blesses the result. The ability to create wealth is Heaven-sourced, covenant-driven, and purpose-focused.

A clear biblical picture of this principle is found in the life of Solomon. Solomon did not initially ask God for wealth, riches, or success. He asked for wisdom. That request reveals a powerful covenant truth: God often releases wealth as a byproduct of divine capacity rather than as a primary pursuit. Solomon sought wisdom to govern God’s people rightly, and God responded by giving him what he did not ask for—riches, honor, and influence beyond any king before or after him.

This is koach in action. God imparted divine wisdom, discernment, and administrative ability into Solomon’s life. That inner capacity produced extraordinary outward wealth. Scripture records that silver became as common as stones in Jerusalem and that gold flowed into Israel from surrounding nations. Kings and queens traveled long distances bringing tribute simply to hear the wisdom God had placed within Solomon. The wealth of the nations was drawn toward him—not by manipulation, but by divine attraction.

Solomon’s wealth was not intended merely for luxury. It funded peace, governance, infrastructure, worship, and the building of the Temple—the dwelling place of God on earth. This reveals the heart of covenant wealth: it exists to establish God’s presence, reflect His glory, and extend Kingdom influence. Wealth followed wisdom. Increase followed alignment.

At the same time, Solomon’s life provides a sober reminder of Moses’ warning in Deuteronomy. When wealth and wisdom drift away from covenant intimacy, the same resources meant to glorify God can begin to compete for the heart. Solomon’s decline was not caused by wealth itself, but by divided affection. This is why Scripture emphasizes remembering the Lord. Wealth flourishes safely only when relationship remains central.

This brings us back to covenant. Covenant is not a transaction—it is a partnership built on trust, obedience, and continuity. God explains why He gives the power to get wealth: “that He may establish His covenant.” Wealth is never the goal—relationship is. God releases financial ability to sustain obedience, extend legacy, and advance His Kingdom from generation to generation.

In covenant, provision never replaces dependence—it deepens it. The more God entrusts, the more closely the heart must stay aligned. God entrusts Heaven’s provision to those who listen for His voice and respond with willing hearts. When He says give, they give. When He says go, they go. Provision does not diminish intimacy—it increases accountability.

As stewards of the King’s resources, we are also partakers of the King’s goodness. We live under His care, move within the privileges of His house, and serve with His supply—not as owners driven by excess, but as sons and daughters entrusted with influence and responsibility.

The power to get wealth is not permission for ego, indulgence, or independence. It is an invitation to stewardship. It is empowerment for generosity, influence, and Kingdom advancement. Wealth flows best through hands that remain open and hearts that stay surrendered.

In the context of the last days, this revelation becomes even more significant. God is not raising up a wealthy Church for comfort—He is commissioning a prepared Church for impact. Covenant wealth funds revival, resources harvest, supports missions, cares for the vulnerable, and advances the gospel without restraint. This is not personal excess; it is historic participation. Wealth that establishes covenant outlives the individual and leaves generational impact.

Today, you are being invited into covenant consciousness. The power to get wealth flows through those who remember who gave it, why it was given, and who it ultimately serves. Heaven is releasing provision to those willing to walk in relationship, obedience, and purpose.

Declaration

I remember the Lord my God. I acknowledge that He gives me the power to get wealth for covenant purposes. I reject pride, self-reliance, and ego-driven increase. I receive divine empowerment to steward resources faithfully and advance God’s Kingdom in the earth. My increase establishes covenant, honors God, and serves His purposes. Amen.

Prayer

Father, I thank You that You are the source of all true increase. Guard my heart in seasons of blessing so I never forget You. Teach me to steward wealth in covenant alignment, not personal ambition. Empower me with divine capacity to walk in Your purposes and establish Your covenant in this generation. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Application

  1. Reflect on Deuteronomy 8:18 and consider how remembering God protects your heart in times of increase.

  2. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas where ambition has replaced dependence.

  3. Write down ways wealth can establish covenant through your life—family, ministry, generosity, and legacy.

  4. Pray for grace to steward increase without losing humility or intimacy with God.

  5. Prayerfully consider how Kingdom resources are meant to flow through your life to advance God’s purposes in this generation—through your local church and Kingdom works such as IgniteEvangelism.com, CEF.org, and other ministries committed to the Great Harvest.
