Day 16: Faith Over Feelings
Day 16: Faith Over Feelings
Scripture:
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”
—2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)
“Feelings may rise like waves, but faith holds the course.”
— Dr. Daniel LeBlanc
Reflection:
If you let your feelings drive your life, you will be tossed by every wave, swayed by every storm, and defeated by every attack. Emotions are real, but they are not reliable leaders. They were never meant to steer your destiny. Only faith can lead you into the promises of God. Living by faith means you choose to believe the Word of God even when your emotions scream the opposite. You don’t ignore your feelings, but you refuse to be governed by them. Sometimes it’s not just your feelings that shake you—it’s the facts. The medical report is real. The bank statement is real. The betrayal happened. The loss was painful. The facts can be undeniable. But faith doesn’t deny reality; faith changes reality. Faith is the force that brings Heaven’s truth into earthly situations. Faith confronts facts and feelings with the higher authority of God’s Word. What you see and what you feel may look final, but faith declares that God’s promise is greater than the facts and stronger than the storm.
Feelings will tell you that you are overwhelmed. Faith will tell you that you are more than a conqueror.
Facts may tell you that it’s impossible. Faith will declare that with God, all things are possible.
Feelings will tell you that you are alone. Faith will declare that God will never leave you nor forsake you.
Feelings will tell you that the storm will take you under. Faith will proclaim that you are anchored and upheld by His righteous right hand.
Faith is not the absence of feelings or facts. It is the decision to trust God’s promises over both. It is the conscious choice to say, “I hear the noise, I see the facts, but I choose to believe the Word.” Feelings are loud. Facts are visible. But faith must be louder and stronger. Emotions and circumstances will change by the hour. Faith must remain constant, anchored in the unchanging truth of God’s covenant.
Today, choose to let faith drive. Let faith speak louder than fear. Let faith see beyond facts. Let faith determine your decisions, your words, and your responses. Feelings may rise like waves, but faith holds the course. When you live by faith and not by sight, you will experience supernatural peace, strength, and victory—no matter what storms rage around you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You that my life is not driven by emotions, nor limited by visible facts, but by Your eternal Word. Today, I choose faith over feelings and faith over facts. I refuse to be led by fear, anxiety, or doubt. I let Your promises lead my heart, my words, and my decisions. When emotions rise like waves, and when facts seem immovable, I will anchor myself to what You have spoken. Thank You for empowering me to live by faith, not by sight, and to walk in unshakable peace no matter what I face. In Jesus’ name, amen.
