Loving Leadership: Day 2
Day 1 — God Is Love: The Source of All Leadership
“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” — 1 John 4:8 (NKJV)
“You cannot lead from God’s heart until you are rooted in God’s love, because love is not just what God does—it is who He is, and it is the source of all true leadership.” — Dr. Daniel LeBlanc
God Is Love: The Source of All Leadership
Leadership is not first about what you do—it is about who you are. In a world that defines leadership by performance, results, and influence, God defines leadership by love. Before God calls you to lead others, He calls you to be rooted in Him, because He is love. If love is not your foundation, your leadership will eventually be driven by pressure, performance, or the need to prove something.
God does not simply show love—He is love. This means that everything that flows from Him is rooted in love, including the way He leads. When you lead from any other source—fear, insecurity, pride, or control—your leadership will produce strain rather than life. But when you lead from love, your leadership becomes life-giving, freeing, and transformational.
Jesus demonstrated this perfectly. He did not lead by force or manipulation, but by love, compassion, and truth. He corrected people, but He never stopped loving them. He led people, but He also served them. His leadership flowed from His relationship with the Father, who is love.
If you want to grow in leadership, you must first grow in love. You cannot give what you have not received, and you cannot lead others into something you are not walking in yourself. When you know that you are deeply loved by God, you stop striving to earn approval and begin leading from a place of security and identity.
Today, your focus is simple: return to the source. Let God’s love be the foundation of your leadership. As you abide in His love, your leadership will naturally begin to reflect His heart.
Declaration (Say it out loud):
God is love, and I am rooted in His love. I do not lead from pressure or performance—I lead from identity. The love of God flows through me and shapes the way I lead others.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being love. Help me to be rooted and established in Your love so that everything I do flows from who You are. Teach me to lead from Your heart and not from my own strength. Through my relationship with Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, transform my leadership to reflect Your love. Amen.
Application — Reflect and Respond
In what areas of my life am I currently leading from pressure, performance, or the need to prove something instead of from love?
Where has God already given me influence (home, work, relationships), and how can I begin to lead from His love in those areas today?
How do I personally receive and stay rooted in the love of God on a daily basis?
When I think about my leadership, what is most often driving my decisions—love, fear, control, or approval?
What is one practical way I can intentionally demonstrate God’s love to someone I influence today?
