God's Prescription
Introduction
"He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
— Psalm 107:20 (NKJV)
What if healing could begin with a prescription from Heaven?
Every day, millions of people visit doctors seeking answers for pain, sickness, weakness, anxiety, and countless other conditions. After an examination, the doctor often writes a prescription. That prescription is designed to help the body recover and return to health. The patient leaves with hope because a treatment plan has been provided.
God also has a prescription.
Psalm 107:20 reveals one of the most powerful healing truths in Scripture: "He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." Notice that God did not merely send healing. He sent His Word. His Word carried the healing. His Word carried the deliverance. His Word carried the solution.
Throughout this devotional journey, we will refer to God's promises as Gospel Pills or “Gos-pills.” The word gospel means "good news." Just as a physician may prescribe medicine to be taken daily, your Heavenly Father has prescribed daily doses of His Good News. These “Gos-pills” are spiritual truths designed to renew your thinking, strengthen your faith, restore your hope, and help position your heart to receive all that God has provided through Jesus Christ.
The world is filled with bad news. Every day we hear reports of sickness, conflict, fear, uncertainty, and disappointment. Yet God's Word offers a different report. His promises remind us that He is still our Healer, our Deliverer, our Provider, and our Restorer. Every promise reveals another aspect of His goodness and another reason to trust Him.
These devotionals are not intended to replace medical advice, treatment, or professional care. Rather, it is designed to help you receive the spiritual medicine God has provided through His Word. Proverbs 4:20-22 tells us that God's words are "life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh." The Hebrew word translated "health" can also be understood as medicine. God's Word has always been Heaven's medicine for the human heart.
For the next forty days, I encourage you to take your “Gos-pills”. Read the Scripture slowly. Meditate on it. Speak it aloud. Pray it. Personalize it. Allow it to become more than information. Allow it to become revelation. Faith grows when God's Word moves from the page into the heart.
As you journey through these pages, you will discover that healing is often much more than the removal of symptoms. God desires to bring healing to every area of life. He heals wounded hearts. He restores broken relationships. He renews troubled minds. He strengthens weary bodies. He revives discouraged spirits. His healing touches the whole person—spirit, soul, and body.
Over the next six weeks, we will move through a progressive pathway of recovery. We will begin by discovering the Father's love, because healing flows from His heart. We will learn how to renew our minds with truth, heal emotional wounds, strengthen our faith, and walk in the wholeness God desires for us. By the end of this journey, my prayer is that you will not simply know more Scriptures, but that you will know the Great Physician more intimately.
No matter what you are facing today, there is hope. No matter how long the struggle has lasted, there is hope. No matter how impossible the situation may seem, there is hope.
The Great Physician still writes prescriptions. His prescription is His Word. Take your “Gos-pills” daily and watch what God can do.
Compelled by Love,
Dr. Daniel LeBlanc
