Day 39: Hello Holy Spirit

Forget Circumstances: Flowing Above Distractions

Scripture

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 NKJV)

Promise

The Spirit empowers you to rise above every storm and circumstance, keeping your flame burning strong no matter what surrounds you.

Quote

“The presence of the Holy Spirit can change your heart even when your situation doesn’t change.” — David Diga Hernandez

Devotion

One of the greatest hindrances to flowing with the Spirit is being consumed by circumstances. Life will always offer reasons to doubt, worry, or hesitate. Bills arrive, relationships struggle, doors close, and storms rage. But if you wait for everything to be perfect before you step into God’s flow, you’ll never move at all.

Paul discovered a secret in Philippians 4:12–13. Whether in prison chains or in a palace, whether in hunger or in abundance, he could do all things through Christ who strengthened him. His circumstances did not determine his obedience. His obedience determined his flow in the Spirit.

The Spirit calls you to rise above the noise of your situation. Romans 8:31 declares, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Circumstances may be loud, but the Spirit’s whisper is louder if you will listen. Trials do not silence the Spirit—they refine your ability to lean into Him. Galatians 5:16 says, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Walking in the Spirit is a choice to focus on Him instead of on your surroundings.

This is why David Diga Hernandez reminds us: “The presence of the Holy Spirit can change your heart even when your situation doesn’t change.” That means you don’t have to wait for your circumstances to improve before you experience peace, power, or breakthrough. His presence breaks chains, shifts perspective, and sustains you through every storm—even when the storm itself still looks the same.

Think of Peter walking on the water in Matthew 14. As long as he fixed his eyes on Jesus, he flowed supernaturally above the storm. But the moment he looked at the wind and waves, he began to sink. The same principle applies to you: the moment you fixate on circumstances, fear takes over. But when you fix your gaze on Jesus, the Spirit lifts you above what would otherwise drown you.

Now let’s look at how you can apply this truth:

  • Stop waiting for “better conditions.” Step out in faith even when the storm is raging.

  • Choose presence over pressure. Circumstances may not shift immediately, but your heart will.

  • Lift your eyes. Keep your focus on Jesus, not the waves.

  • Walk in the Spirit daily. Refuse to let temporary situations silence eternal truths.

The Spirit’s flow is not hindered by what surrounds you—it is hindered only by what distracts you. When you say, “Hello Holy Spirit, I choose to look at You, not at my storm,” you position yourself to rise above circumstances and flow in His power.

Declaration

Hello Holy Spirit, I refuse to be controlled by my circumstances. I lift my eyes off the storm and fix them on You. Your presence changes my heart and sustains me in every season.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, I confess that I have often let circumstances dictate my faith and obedience. Today I choose to trust You above what I see, feel, or face. Lift me above the storm, fill me with peace, and teach me to walk in Your flow even when life is hard. Thank You that Your presence is greater than every problem. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
