BEFORE TIME: The God of Love Who Knew You
BEFORE TIME: The God of Love Who Knew You
Introduction
Introduction
Long before the galaxies were spun into place and the earth was formed, God already knew you. Before light burst across the universe, before time was measured in days and years, and before humanity took its first breath, you were already seen, fully known, and deeply loved by Him. Scripture tells us, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” (Jeremiah 1:5). God’s knowledge of you did not begin at birth or even at conception—it began in eternity. He did not discover you as history unfolded; He knew you before history existed. And He did not know you with distance or detachment. He knew you in love.
The Bible does not simply say that God loves—it declares that “God is love” (1 John 4:8). Love is not something God turns on or off depending on our performance; it is who He is. That is why He can say, “I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). Everlasting love means there was never a moment when His love for you did not exist, and there will never be a moment when it runs out. This truth changes how we see everything. Most of us live as though God’s love is something we must earn, grow into, or constantly protect from being lost. But Scripture reveals a God whose love was already settled long before our choices, struggles, or failures ever appeared. “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God loved you before you were at your best, and He loved you even before you were at your worst.
Jesus is described as “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8). That means redemption was not God’s reaction to sin—it was His eternal decision. Forgiveness, grace, healing, peace, freedom, and restoration were not last-minute solutions; they were prepared before the problem ever appeared. The Cross did not change God’s heart toward you—it revealed what had always been there. This journey is an invitation to step into that reality. Along the way, you will begin to see that forgiveness existed before your failure, grace was waiting before your struggle, healing was planned before sickness ever entered the story, peace was present in God’s heart before anxiety ever touched yours, and freedom was decided before bondage tried to define you. Even victory was settled before any battle began.
You are not trying to convince God to love you. You are learning to receive a love that has always been there. Scripture assures us that “nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38–39). His love has never been fragile, conditional, or uncertain. This journey is not about striving to become someone better; it is about waking up to who you already are in God’s eyes. As you walk through these pages, the pressure begins to lift, shame loses its voice, fear loosens its grip, and faith becomes less about effort and more about trust. You were never an afterthought. You were never unknown to Him. You were never unloved. You were known before earth. You were loved before time. And you are held now by the same love that has always surrounded you.
Welcome to Before Time—a journey into the heart of the God of love who knew you before you were born.
